Successful Project Completion in Brava Island
WinPower, S.A. is proud to announce the successful commissioning of two state-of-the-art diesel gensets at the Favetal Thermal Power Plant on Brava Island, Cabo Verde. Each generator has a nominal power output of 640 kW in Continuous Operating Power (COP) mode, these generators ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply for the entire demand of the island.
These represent a significant upgrade on the island’s energetic infrastructure. Equipped with technology to provide a robust N-1 reserve – a feature that ensures uninterrupted power supply during maintenance or unexpected outages. For this isolated community, this is a vital improvement. Additionally, this project will allow future integration of renewable energy technologies. The gensets are designed with adaptability in mind as the country moves towards its renewable energy goals and these systems continue to play a vital role in stabilizing the grid.
The successful commissioning was celebrated in an inauguration ceremony held in June, attended by key stakeholders, which included the Prime Minister of Cabo Verde. This event served as a reminder of the connection between engineering and national development and, more specifically in the country’s energy development journey.
Once again, we are honored to have played, along with partners and stakeholders, an important role on the reinforcement of Cabo Verde’s energy landscape. We maintain our commitment to delivering innovative, efficient and dependable energy solutions for communities around the world.
