WinPower is awarded key contract in Brava Island

We are thrilled to announce that WinPower has been awarded an important public tender, awarded by ELECTRA – Empresa Pública de Electricidade e Água, to supply and commission two 800 kVA Gensets in Brava Island, Cabo Verde. 

This project, started in October 2023, held great importance for Brava Island’s power supply. The Brava Power Station’s aging and faltering equipment led to unstable power supply, causing power shortages and the subsequent hardship to the local population.

This contract was a game-changer, addressing these critical issues and ensuring a reliable energy source for this beautiful island, thanks to ELECTRA – Empresa Pública de Eletricidade e Água’s support. This endeavour was made possible through collaborative efforts, including the backing of the Cape Verdean Government and other stakeholders, reaffirming their commitment to improving the island’s energy infrastructure.

WinPower takes great pride in our longstanding and enduring partnership with ELECTRA – Empresa Pública de Electricidade e Água, which dates back to 2010. This contract not only represents our continued collaboration, but also showcases the level of excellence and competitiveness of our solutions. An essential and successful execution for both, with the leadership of our Project Manager Filipe Salgado.

This work marks the sixth major project in Cabo Verde for WinPower, reinforcing our presence on six islands: Brava (the most recent), Santiago, Sal, S. Vicente, Fogo and S. Nicolau. We are committed to bringing sustainable and reliable power solutions to the people of Cabo Verde, which we believe will translate into a more stable and prosperous future for the people of Brava Island.
