Our Solution

WinPower implemented a comprehensive Operation and Maintenance management system designed specifically for Dual Fuel power plants. This solution includes:

  • Full management of daily operations and continuous supervision of the plant;

  • Planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance;

  • Implementation of strict safety and reliability procedures;

  • Optimization of the performance and efficiency of the generating units.

The system integrates WinPower’s accumulated experience in engineering, operations, and management of energy infrastructure, applying methodologies that ensure the longevity of assets and minimize environmental impact.

The local O&M team consists of electrical and mechanical engineers, specialized technicians, supervisors, and operators, supported by engineering and management teams from the headquarters.

Results

The plant benefits from continuous, reliable, and efficient operation, with optimized energy costs and a significant reduction in environmental impact due to the predominant use of natural gas. The combination of Dual Fuel technology with a robust maintenance strategy ensures not only the safety and performance of the facility but also its adaptability to different energy needs.

The project will enable the Government of São Tomé and Príncipe to have a clear and feasible model for private sector engagement, tailored to the country’s needs and aligned with international best practices. Expected outcomes include improved operations, reduced commercial losses, increased reliability and quality of power supply, and expanded electricity access, contributing to the country’s economic and social development.
