This project, involved a comprehensive scope of work that encompassed the design, manufacturing, supply and on-site delivery, testing and commissioning of two electric diesel generator sets. Each genset was specified to have a nominal power output of 640 kW in COP mode.
Additionally, the provision of all necessary accessories and auxiliaries was included, essential for the optimal operation of the generator sets.
Overall, the successful completion of this project represents a significant enhancement in the reliability and efficiency of energy supply in the intended application.
Our Solution
Our mission for this project was very clear – to ensure both reliability and efficiency, providing a continuous and uninterrupted power supply to the consumers on Brava Island. The installation of these new Gensets is strategically designed to guarantee the N-1 reserve, mitigating any potential power disruptions during scheduled maintenance intervals.
The Results
WinPower successfully commissioned the two generator sets on Brava Island, bringing them into full operational service in May, 2023.
The gensets supplied now provide 100% of the island’s electricity supply, significantly enhancing the reliability and stability of the energy system. In June, the capacity reinforcement of the Favetal Thermal Power Plant was marked by the presence of the Prime Minister of Cabo Verde, underscoring the confidence placed the national government in WinPower’s expertise. This milestone further highlights the company’s commitment to delivering robust and efficient energy solutions, ensuring a more stable and resilient power supply for the region.
